The 2010 – 2011 Gathering Our Voice project is highlighting past and present food harvest and distribution practices in the region. See the Foodways & Byways page for photos and excerpts from the initial interviews gathered as part of the project.
Do you have photos that you can share with us? We are looking for photos from the 1880s to the 1960s to tell the story of food harvest and distribution in our region
- Photos of people harvesting food, sharing it with neighbors, and moving it to market
- Photos of people hunting, fishing and gathering foods from the wild
- Photos of people farming, processing and transporting food to packing sheds, grain elevators, railheads, creameries, butcher shops, and stores
We’re interested in photos from the whole region. We’ll take good card of your pictures, return them when we’re finished, and credit your contribution in the video we will be producing, “Foodways & Byways of North Central Washington.”
