Overview

Independent Electric is an over 100-year-old company serving industry in a variety of ways. We repair and test electric motors, hoist/cranes, welders and generators. We also offer power distribution testing and repair as well as new and used product offerings. We are looking for a Motor Rewind Technician at our location in Springfield, Missouri.

Job Summary:

Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment

Work Performed:

Inspect various kinds of electromechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.

Test conditions of windings.

Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment, including but not limited to: single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding.

Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various handheld power and non-power tools.

Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

Preferred minimum level of education: high school diploma

Special Skills:

Basic mechanical aptitude

Ability to understand, perform and retain various skill-related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by supervisor.

Physical Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; talk and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Clearly see 20 plus feet with or without corrective lenses. have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
