Privately owned dental practice located in University Heights, Ohio is looking for an Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our growing team!

Our candidate must have an outstanding personality, excellent customer service skills along with showing great initiative!

Primary responsibility is to contribute to the success of the practice by building and maintaining successful working relationships with doctors and patients to provide quality patient care and service.

Responsibilities

• Completes approved procedures validated through the Dental Board such as placement of amalgam, composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, space maintainers, etc.
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of procedures
• Taking dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (fillings)
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, contribute to the ordering of supplies.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of EFDA experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• EFDA License
• Coronal Polishing (Required)
• X-ray (Required)
• CPR Certification (Required)
