We are looking for a full-time candidate with mobility planning experience to join our mobility practice as part of the Cities Consulting team. Strong emphasis is placed on knowledge of transportation planning, GIS and analytical skills, system thinking, understanding client and project goals, and developing solutions. Projects are anticipated to be a mix of strategic planning, master planning, and technical studies, ranging across different scales and modes (metropolitan regions, cities, neighborhoods, site planning, and streets). Candidates with an understanding and interest in the role that mobility planning and engineering (past and present) play in the climate crisis and racial and social equity are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and contribute to mobility work, including: bicycle and pedestrian planning, masterplans, traffic studies, parking studies, transit, TOD, TDM, micro-mobility, and multi-modal integration.
  • Create and deliver reports, presentations, models, maps, technical analyses, and other deliverables for key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal and external teams to complete complex planning, engineering, and policy assignments with a focus on mobility.
  • Facilitation of workshops, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews.
  • Execute analysis for the development of project and policy recommendations.
  • Project management support, including helping to develop project work plans, scopes, timelines, costing, and analyses to be completed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design or a mobility-related subject.
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in transportation/mobility planning or civil/traffic engineering.
  • Experience using GIS software to conduct geospatial analyses, make maps, and refine those maps in Adobe Illustrator to convey complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstration of written and oral communications and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate and interact comfortably with a range of constituents such as engineers, planners, city and agency staff, policy officials, investors, community groups, advocacy organizations, the public, etc.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks against tight timelines.
  • Experience working on large scale, multi-disciplinary projects in urban development and/or infrastructure.
  • Critical analytic thinking to serve our clients, with a passion for intelligent planning/engineering solutions and a curiosity about the challenges of built environments.
  • Enjoy working on a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of planners, engineers, economists, architects, and other professionals.

What we offer:

  • Salary range of $73,000 to $100,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
