URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a full time Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position will be focused on the maintenance/repair for our trailers and trucks within our fleet. Occasional field work is required (road calls). The ability to think, troubleshoot and work independently is a must to get equipment back up and running in a timely fashion.

Duties will include:

  • Repair and maintain diesel trucks in a Fleet environment
  • Diagnose mechanical failures of Truck and Trailers and make needed repairs
  • Diagnose and trouble shoot engines after treatment systems
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records
  • Tune engines to ensure efficient operation

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair; or completion of accredited vocational technical school program
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills
  • Air brake certified preferred
  • Valid Class A CDL license required
  • Must be able to be work a swing shift
  • Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results required
  • Frequently lift using both hands/arms reaching, grasping and carrying, weights up to 50 lbs., rarely up to 100 lbs.
