SUMMARY

The General Clerk III will perform simple repetitive tasks in the same sequence. File pre-coded documents in a chronological file, or operating office equipment, (e.g., mimeograph, photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Assists in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically).
  • Assists with the compiling and verification of statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.
  • Uses a thorough knowledge of an office's work and routine.
  • Processes complex transactions: and select or devise steps necessary to complete assignments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School or Equivalent is required and 1 year combined clerical experience preferably in federal setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Use some clerical subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. to 150 lbs. (2-man technique) as needed
  • Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS/ JPAS is required
  • Successfully pass a drug screen and federal background

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is occasionally performed in a climate-controlled warehouse environment with time spent standing intermittently.

Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.
