Job Overview:
We are looking for a Multi-Unit General Manager to organize daily operations and lead our staff.

Multi-Unit General Manager responsibilities include scheduling shifts, making bank deposits, management of our point-of-sale system, monitoring daily labor levels/revenues/expense, ordering supplies, and much more. To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in coffee shops and be able to demonstrate exemplary management and leadership skills and ensure that the café staff carries out all duties efficiently.

Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and turn our cafes into a favorite local spot.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Customer Service. We provide our guests with superior customer service standards. Our aim is to provide a memorable, positive experience to all of our guests that is second to none in our industry.

  • Welcomes guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, food, and pastry menus. answering questions. Supervises all baristas to standard.
  • Develops the next generation of café leaders through performance plans with Assistant

Managers, Shift Supervisors, & Coffee Leads.

  • Creates and implements promotional programs with the bar menu, and retail products.
  • Prepares and sells beverages in a quick and efficient manner while following all proper recipes to the highest quality standards.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers, defining new and expanded services and products.
  • Takes ownership of café financial success by operating within budgeted goals.
  • Builds relationships with customers through coffee education and friendly engagement.

Operations. At FairWave we ask our team to stay up to date on best practices to ensure that we are always operating at full capacity. Part of operations requires relationship building, so as a contributing team member you can effectively and efficiently communicate to peers and leaders and vice versa.

  • Overall, Leadership. Setting an example for the entire staff in a professional, friendly, and communicative way.
  • Orders products through external & internal vendors and creating/maintaining ordering pars.
  • Creates schedules for each week (Monday-Sunday). Filling in extra shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
  • Creates a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards, workplace safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Takes ownership of the café to ensure positive audit scores, guest reviews, & scorecard results.
  • Makes bank deposits and keeps organized documents.
  • Supervises the store as the manager on duty when present.
  • Takes initiative to maintain visual appearance of the entire space.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar. With approval from Café Operations leadership.
  • Takes initiative for your own professional development. Reads books on leadership, podcasts, videos, seeks advice from mentors. Follow up on training sessions.
  • Establishes quarterly café initiatives & building milestones to gauge success.
  • Performs monthly inventory with Assistant Managers of all products in café.
  • Attends one on one meetings with Café Operations leadership as well as monthly manager meetings with other store managers.
  • Hosts meetings with Assistant Managers to ensure leadership & operational development.
  • Maintains all brand standards as well as that requested by Ibis bakery or any of the company’s affiliates.
  • Maintains a positive attitude. Treat everyone with respect, including customers, coworkers, management, baristas, and production teams.
  • Delegates tasks in a clear professional manner.
  • Helps in other areas as needed, such as running food & drinks, helping in the kitchen and dishwashing.
  • Helps Coffee Lead with training and development of team’s coffee knowledge.
  • Recruits new talent.
  • Documents associate coaching and performance issues when needed.
  • Communicates in a clear, professional manner.
  • Supports company leaders with any special requests or initiatives.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with telephone, office, and point-of-sale software.
  • Food handlers’ card and liquor license (when applicable).
  • Current driver’s license (when applicable).
