We are looking for a bright and energetic person to work part time in our Activities Department. We are an Assisted living facility with residents living with dementia. Must be caring and a team player. Must be able to multitask and be able to go with the flow. Must enjoy working with seniors. Saturdays are required.

Summary: The Activities Assistant assists the Life Enrichment Manager with the development and delivery of activity programs for our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of activities which are specifically designed to enrich the lives of our residents. Assists with development of the monthly activity calendar.
  • Leads one on-one and group activities. Prepares rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each activity. Encourages resident and family participation in activities.
  • Assists the Life Enrichment Manager in evaluating the effectiveness of activities programs, individual needs, and participation levels of each resident.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate with people of all ages clearly and proficiently, while maintaining an energetic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Must be able to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience in a similar position in retirement living or home care is preferred.
  • Experience with dementia is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
