JOB DESCRIPTION:

IBMC College is recruiting for a part time online Adjunct Instructor to teach Business classes. Classes to be taught in online.

Position Purpose

Deliver educational curriculum and lesson knowledge to on-ground and online students in a classroom or hybrid setting. Provide support as needed with Externship class site visits and grading.

JOB DUTIES:

1) Interest and commitment to teaching in an online environment

2) The online instructor performs duties relating to online instructor including, but not limited to,

posting faculty guidance and expectations, participating in classroom discussion boards,

grading…

3) Evaluating student performance via established rubrics and policies

1) Prior to being offered a course, attend an online instruction orientation process

2) Prior to the course start complete a quality check review of each assigned course

3) Engage fully with students in assigned course. This translates to having active course participation and being responsive to students and supporting their success

4) Conduct courses as designed through the learning management system (LMS)

5) Post weekly course updates, grades and announcements

6) Provide personalized and substantive feedback on all student submissions and assignments within the college’s guidelines

7) Host live classroom sessions as required

8) Actively assist the college in retention efforts such as reporting to the student services office a concern for a student not engaged in the course

9) Adhere to all FERPA policies

10) Ensures a solid understanding of the Canvas student portal, including all instructor tools

11) Attend required in-service and annual company meeting.

12) Maintain professional development activities pertinent to online course delivery.

13) Maintain confidentiality of all work information.

Other Duties

1) Substitute teach approved classes as needed.

2) Lead student groups or tutoring sessions as needed.

3) Support Student Services efforts pertaining to retention and placement for on-ground and online classes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Qualified candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a business related program along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field. All experience must be verified in writing.
