Merrifield Animal Hospital, a well-established and high-quality general practice, seeks to add a Veterinary Assistant to our friendly team. Our hospital boasts an enjoyable working environment with great leadership and excellent support staff. We are dedicated to active learning and advanced medical procedures and our Assistants play an integral role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients.
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule however rotating evening and Saturday shifts will be required. Candidates must have experience in the following areas: surgical assistance, pharmacy duties, lab work, radiology, monitoring of patients, maintaining anesthetized patients and handling medical records. A caring and compassionate attitude is required of all team members
Our Veterinary Assistants are an important part of our pet care team and help provide excellent care to our patients as well as providing outstanding customer service to our clients.
This position is a great opportunity for someone that wants to become a Veterinary Technician. We prefer candidates with veterinary practice experience including:
- Greeting patients/clients
- Lab work
- Monitoring of patients
- Assisting veterinarians
- Pharmacy duties
- Handling medical records
- Veterinary care/kennel work
