OverviewResponsible for providing coding oversight for Coding Team vendors.
Responsibilities
Provides technical oversight of vendor processes ensuring correct payor types and OASIS types are being processed.
Performs coding and technical audits of vendor coding charts including diagnosis coding assignment in coordination with the plan of care and FTF.
Assists with reviewing any denials or requests for workflow resets related to coding on vendor processed charts.
Functions as a liaison between care center, coding team, and vendor(s) to resolve any coding concerns.
Monitors Element 5 vendor production daily and provides intervention for on-hold charts for non-clinical intervention.
Identifies needs for additional supportive documentation/information and communicates needs to care center leadership and supervisor.
Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with excel
Experience with HCHB
Qualifications:
Required-
Five (5+) years' home health coding experience.
Current ICD-10 coding certification (HCS-D, BCHH-C).
