Job Description


General Summary

Under moderate supervision, the Obstetrical Surgical Technologist is a multi-skilled individual who demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in more complex surgical procedures and instrumentation. Participates in a wide variety of clinical tasks/procedures for the patient as a member of the patient care team. Provides any basic patient care duties and participates in tasks to assist with the progression of the patient’s plan of care. Serves as a technical resource for other Surgical Technologists. Patients served include infant through adult.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to RN for specific patient related duties. Overall supervision from manager of patient care unit.


Qualifications


High School diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program and/or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience within the last 5 years. BLS required. CNA required.
