Role Overview:
This position will partner with our Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations team to focus on projects, technology, and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of networks, electrical infrastructure, PLC controls, and robotics. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance and optimization of existing processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate electrical controls systems for machines and manufacturing process as well as large scale communication network architecture design.
- Provide initial project development including concepts, design, layouts, cost estimating, cost justifications, research, and selection of the best equipment and project timelines and contingencies.
- Write, edit, and enhance PLC and robotic programs for new and existing applications.
- Provide advice, technical direction, and mentoring as a support member to both Thermoset maintenance and CS2 (Central Services) Electrical staff.
- Lead projects in support of efforts to constantly improve safety, product quality, and maintainability throughout Thermoset Division. Facilitate and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Provide accurate BOM, schematics, panel layouts, and related documentation for new integration projects.
- Develop “intelligent” equipment featuring: Self diagnostics, automatic recoveries, data/event logging, and advanced operator interface.
- Focus on safety at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field experience
- 10 years’ experience of large system programming including: PLC ladder logic, HMI screens, Servo Motion control, PID loop, and robotics
- Superior programming and electrical trouble shooting skills
- Proven experience in project management/leadership.
Hardware Qualifications:
- Rockwell PLC expertise required: Micorlogix, Control logix, Compact Logix
- HMI experience: AB Panelview & Panelview plus, RS View, Automation Direct.
- Motion: Rockwell Kinetix platform for servo, Powerflex line for VFD
- Network: Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, Rockwell Stratix.
- Robotic: Fanuc Robotics R30ia, R30ib, and R30ib+
- Sensor and vision: Keyence & Rockwell Sensors, Fanuc IrVision.
Software qualification:
- Rockwell: Studio 5000, RS Logix (500,5000), Factory Talk Suite, Factory Talk historian ME, Integrated Architecture.
- Auto Cad Electrical
- Fanuc Robotics: Handling Tool, Roboguide, IrVision, IrCalibration, DCS, Advanced EIP.
- Windows 10 enterprise and office suite.
