This position is part of Novanta’s ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world’s leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Summary
The Senior Sales Operations and Order Entry Manager is a key leadership role responsible for refining the sales process and leading the order entry process at ATI Industrial Automation a Novanta Company. This position is accountable for driving sales efficiency, enhancing the productivity of the sales team, and ensuring the efficient execution of complex order entry by the Order Entry Team. The successful candidate will possess a passion for leading teams, analyzing sales data, advocating for sales strategies, and driving continuous improvement with the ambition to continually exceed goals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Senior Sales Operations Responsibilities:
  • Analyze sales data and use the insights to optimize the sales process.
  • Oversee the management of sales data and customer information in CRM, ERP, and Inventive platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX compliance as it pertains to sales processes.
  • Support the creation and management of sales forecasts and pipeline management.
  • Establish and manage sales reporting systems to provide visibility and key business insights.
  • Develop and track KPIs for sales staff and management to measure performance and identify areas of improvement.
Key Order Entry Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead the Order Entry Team, overseeing the execution of complex order entries and ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Achieve team goals by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback, enforcing policies, and facilitating coordination.
  • Communicate proactively with planning and customers regarding order status and lead times.
  • Optimize the order entry process to reduce processing time and minimize entry errors.
  • Monitor and respond to various database discrepancy reports in a timely manner.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading and managing work teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a strong ability to learn and utilize new technology platforms for sales and order management.
  • Solid understanding of sales processes and customer relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze sales data, draw meaningful conclusions, and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to learn and obtain a basic working knowledge level of technical products or processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement process improvements.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Intermediate or advanced second language skills would be desired, but not required (Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a high-paced environment.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and ISO audits.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably within a business management discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a managerial role leading a sales operations and order entry team, preferably in a B2B sales environment.
  • Experience in developing and tracking KPIs and making data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience in sales forecasting and pipeline management.
