About the Position::
The Retail Communications Manager will develop and execute components of an internal communications strategy for The Fresh Market, while staying true and consistent to our consumer and employer brand approach. This position will be responsible for internal communications content that is delivered within our organization and will partner across all areas of the business on general communication best practices, while ensuring a clear, consistent, and effective message to all team members. This position will help drive our employee engagement and sustainability efforts by working together with common goals and a clear purpose… inspiring people to make everyday eating extraordinary and becoming America’s most loved brand. What You'll Do::
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to announce company initiatives, supporting employee engagement.
  • Determine the appropriate communication method(s) when responding to multiple, sometimes overlapping and changing, communication needs and audiences.
  • Measure and monitor the success of internal communication programs designed to support the objectives of corporate functions.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with key leaders to stay ahead of planned announcements and communication needs.
  • Develop, edit, and support communications and store resources including, but not limited to, weekly programs, weekly checklists, store surveys, ads and promotions, new/updated processes and procedures, diversity initiatives, and more.
  • Act in a gatekeeping capacity in maintaining internal communications calendar and following Store Impact Planning (SIP) processes.
  • Participate in two-way communication with store/field teams using our internal communications platform, soliciting feedback, sharing best practices, and celebrating successes with large audiences.
  • Help to deliver clear and impactful messages from senior management about company initiatives.
Qualifications::
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, training, and skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Ability to work consistently and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously.
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to work with executives, employees, manager, retail operators, and external groups to present a positive image of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats, and build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging that resonates with employees.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
