Come join our team as a Research Scientist – Statistician! Provide statistical consulting and advanced statistical methodology expertise to support and enable experimental design and data analysis in crop protection product development. The position will lead the expanding advanced statistical design and analysis needs for greenhouse and field experiments in the priority initiative areas of crop protection, along with the implementation of key statistical methodologies in internal software tools.

Research Scientist – Job Responsibilities:

  • Exercises scientific judgment regarding advanced statistical methodologies to provide research and statistical consulting expertise for crop protection product evaluation. Advises the initiation, design, analysis, and interpretation of field and greenhouse experiments. Includes written and verbal summaries used for decision-making. Utilizes statistical software such as SAS, R, JMP and other packages as needed for research applications.
  • Lead the development and implementation of statistical models in our in-house flexible and automated analysis tools, in partnership with the internal IT group.
  • Apply advanced statistical knowledge and professional statistical modeling concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex biological problems in creative and effective ways.
  • Leading the development and implementation of advanced statistical procedures to address complex biological questions and applying these procedures to key initiatives.

Qualifications

What will You need as a Research Scientist?

  • Ph.D. in statistics or MS with 3-5 years of experience as a statistician.
  • Experience in Agriculture is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of current and new statistical concepts and methodologies especially experimental design, mixed models, nonlinear models, generalized linear mixed models and the ability to solve complex problems by determining and using appropriate statistical techniques.
  • Proficient in statistical programming languages, including R, or SAS.
  • Strong consulting/interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a scientific team.
  • An ability to multitask effectively under tight time and resource constraints.
Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $97,000 – $134,000 yearly. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
