Reception Specialist, OPA–Anchorage, Full-Time (9:00am-5:30pm)

You will receive a $500 SIGNING BONUS after 90 days of full-time employment

Orthopedic Physicians Alaska seeks a highly skilled, dedicated and professional Reception Specialist to join our rapidly growing and dynamic team. This collaborative position works closely with pre-certification specialists, clinicians, and benefits providers, and includes typical reception responsibilities.

Representative duties
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all patients
  • Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage limits and options
  • Work closely with the billing and other departments providing services
  • Schedule appointments, answer phones, data entry
  • Collect deposits and co-pays
Knowledge and skill requirements
  • Knowledge of primary and secondary coordination of benefits
  • Familiar with CPT and ICD-10
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen organization skills
Required qualifications
  • Six (6) months of customer service, preferably in the medical industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred (in addition to required) qualifications
  • One (1) year medical office experience
  • Knowledge of insurance and billing
