Job Description


Wilshire is seeking a PR professional with at least 5 years of experience in the financial services field to join their Marketing Communications team. The position involves creating and maintaining content to be used in press releases, other media outreach and social media. The role will also develop and maintain a collaborative repository for media lists and research efforts through a news clipping and competitive market monitoring system. You will manage the relationship with our third-party PR agency and lead interview and official response planning.

What you’ll do:

  • Leading media response efforts and coordinating scheduling for confirmed spokespersons
  • Ongoing research efforts to develop and maintain core communication and special projects lists for media, industry organizations, client ambassadors, etc.
  • Crafting content for press releases and other media communications to promote clients, offerings, etc.
  • Maintaining and updating a shared communications repository with talking points, pitch and response templates, spokesperson dossiers and web or internal communications support as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, PR, Marketing or related field
  • At least five years’ experience in financial services-focused PR
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and maintain elements of a communications program
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically
  • Ability to help design PR campaigns, measure results and propose adjustments as needed

  • This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Santa Monica, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Jersey City, or Broomfield office or remotely in our list of approved states**

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $130,000/year. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefits, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
