Established in 2011, W2Fuel LLC is a producer and marketer of biodiesel within the advanced biofuel industry. W2Fuel owns and operates two biodiesel production facilities, located in Adrian, MI and Crawfordsville, IA, that provide up to 20 million gallons per year of high-grade biodiesel to the Michigan, Ohio, and Iowa markets. General Accountability: The employee will be part of a small, highly focused group that is responsible for the manufacturing of biodiesel. The scope of activities range from field tasks such as material handling, truck onloading & offloading, tank farm management, control room operations, such as recipe management, and process control & process control testing.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Monitor all process operating parameters and utility infrastructure operations (i.e., chemicals batching, stocking consumables, pumping, etc.)
- Operate all equipment associated with the biodiesel process: including reactors, distillation, separators, and drying systems.
- Safely manage loading and unloading of finished products and chemicals.
- Monitor and adjust operation using computerized and controlled systems to meet department requirements.
- Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet and collect samples for several process areas.
- Interfacing with computer terminals, and monitoring plant functions via computer and control rooms
- Monitor various processing parameters and physically take readings from machinery in all parts of the plant regularly
- Assess current operating conditions and make process adjustments as needed to maintain critical product specifications
- Carry out all manufacturing operations, including large scale chemical reactions, distillation, centrifuging and vacuum-drying, as well as support activities such as operating boiler equipment, water treatment and filtration
- Operate manual and automatic production equipment including pumps, valves, centrifuges, dryers and evaporators.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment and perform general housekeeping duties.
- Follow all safety guidelines regulated by W2Fuel LLC., OSHA, or other regulatory agencies.
- Perform weekly, monthly, yearly equipment checklists.
- Other, as may be assigned from time to time.
Required Education and Essential Core Competencies:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to use and understand calculations, production rates and fluid inventories
- Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines
- Ability to perform task and duties without constant supervision
- Ability to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
- Ability to adapt and manage to change effectively
- Must possess valid driver’s license or have other reliable transportation
- Physical presence at the facility is required during the substantial majority of the working time
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting Up to 75 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
- Work with required chemicals
