Full Job Description

St. John’s United Methodist Church in Santa Fe is currently hiring for 2 part time nursery workers for children 6 months thru 5 years. These workers will care for and nurture children during nursery hours on Sunday mornings and other busy times in the life of the church, i.e., Christmas Eve and Holy Week. There may be other opportunities for more hours in the future.

Hours/Pay

9:00 am to possibly 11:45 am. Pay 9:00 am – 10:45 am guaranteed.

Qualifications

· Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

· Must pass a background check.

· Must complete Safe Sanctuaries online training and pass quiz for certificate.

· Provide at least one reference outside of family members

Responsibilities

· Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents/guardians, and volunteers.

· Establish and maintain good health, safety, and sanitary procedures in the nursery.

· Ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities and characteristics common to small children.

· Use a pager system for parents/guardians.

· Stay until all children are secured with a responsible adult.

· Set up and clean up nursery room, including cleaning and disinfecting toys.

· Communicate planned absences with two-week advance notice and unplanned absences as soon as possible.
