Are you interested in working in a modern office environment with cutting edge research and ideas being applied to the problems of how to improve human wellbeing and flourishing? We are a cooperative and caring small clinical team and we treat and care for people suffering with two problems, depression and obesity, which will give you the honor of helping some of the most vulnerable members of our human family. Do you love working directly with patients and providing a positive impact on their lives? Do you have a friendly demeanor and excellent communication skills? Consider joining our team at Dignity Weight Center/Dignity Brain Health (hereafter “Dignity”)!! Dignity is a leading outpatient clinic that provides patients in the greater Boston and New England area with compassionate and evidence-based treatment for depression and obesity.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant who can commit to work full time for 2 years. Many of our past Medical Assistants have gone on to medical school, PA school, and other careers, and with good performance we provide extremely strong mentorship and a letter of recommendation.

Communication skills, empathy, health education skills are essential for the position. Being able to review evidence based guidelines with patients and learn about their lives and provide general supportive care is key. You would work under the Medical Director (Dr. Omar), and our Senior Medical Technician, but with a very large amount of autonomy and in a luxury furnished office. You would need to interact compassionately with patients, including very minimal clinical documentation.

Experience in primary care, psychiatry, obesity medicine are a bonus; all training (paid; on the job) will be provided.

Job Requirements:

· Work Full time. Monday-Friday. 30 Minute lunch daily (paid)

In this role, you will do actual clinical caregiving, and get extremely high quality clinical experience with a lot of responsibility (supervised of course), and lots of learning and growth of your clinical skills.

-Responsibilities include administering TMS treatments, DEXA Scan, and Resting Metabolic tests according to specific physician protocols. Set up the medical devices and monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions for patient comfort and treatment accuracy

–Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, other side effects, and device system setup throughout treatment, along with clinically appropriate responses to issues that arise in treatment.

-Excellent experience gained in clinical history taking, diagnostic formulation, differential diagnosis, patient communication skills, cultural competency skills, patient-centered ethical care, and procedures including transcranial magnetic stimulation, DEXA scan for osteoporosis and body composition and resting metabolic rate testing, experience using an EMR, documenting clinical notes.

-mentorship by Medical Director who is an alumnus of Harvard, Yale, and Brown, a faculty member at Harvard, published in top journals, and has won awards for his teaching and mentoring, and takes a personal interest in the career success of his employees

· Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Empathic personality, and an enjoyment in caring for patients directly. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient struggles, coping, side effects, along with clinically appropriate responses to issues that arise in treatment, with supervision.

· Appointments scheduled for you; no administrative hassles

· Electronic medical record software is cloud based, easy to use, and already customized to tasks at hand, with all templates already designed.

· Maintain electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA.

· Contribute to a positive work environment, including a safe and therapeutic environment for patient sessions

· Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public

· Maintain patient confidentiality

· Follow established evaluation, treatment and office procedures

· Maintain professional appearance and demeanor

· Have excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, technology-literate skills

· High conscientiousness, and ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding patient details

· A positive attitude showing initiative and willingness to adapt to change

· Communicate with Medical Director and Senior Medical Technician who oversees patient care

· Attend all regular clinic/team meetings and check-ins

· As needed, assist other staff in administrative work during times when there are gaps in patient schedules

· On the job certifications will be provided to you as you train

Pay:
