Title: Medical Assistant for Pain Management Clinic
Medical Assistant Duties:
FRONT OFFICE
- Welcome patients, process patient intake forms and schedule appointments
- Complete full cycle patient registration which include: collecting insurance and identification documents, verifying patient eligibility, communicating fees, and collecting payments
BACK OFFICE
- Room or escort patient to exam room to prepare patient for visit
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit
- Perform preliminary physical test, take blood pressure, weight and temperature, report patient history
- Handle patient and lab charges for the billing department
- Assist the provider with patient education
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and ICD10 coding procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and injection procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
- Empathy and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration
- Understand HIPAA requirements; maintain and protect patient information
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- CPR certification

- Downey, CA 90241: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
