Job description

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Reviews schedule to identify patients requiring pre-authorization.
- Calls or accesses insurance company websites to obtain prior authorization.
- Logs each authorization within referral application of Practice Manager.
- Prioritizes and provides timely turnaround on same day/next day testing requests.
- Post charges for sleep studies daily
- Reconciles charges daily
- Serves as a patient advocate in clarity and understanding of billing
- Prepares charts and makes reminder calls to sleep studies patients.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of: medical office practices and procedures, office equipment, medical terminology, data entry and basic computer experience.
- Basic knowledge of third party payor, insurance and regulatory requirements preferred.
- Experience in customer relations.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
Pay Range
$15.30 - $19.67 /hour
