About

I have an immediate need for an in-home 1st grade Wilson Reading System or Orton Gillingham Certified tutor in Ponte Vedra Beach. Mom is requesting a tutor who has experience with the Wilson Reading Sytem (WRS) or is Orton Gillingham certified. The student has ASD and ADHD.

The student is a 1st grader attending PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School. He needs to work with a tutor as his is struggling with his reading. He is non verbal and is scoring low on the standardized testing. He scored a 526 on the STAR reading test and benchmark is 800+. Per the testing, he is reading at emergent Pre-K levels, which is lower than his previous scores from the standardized tests from last year.

He was previously in an intensive reading intervention, but has not received additional reading services this school year. He is having difficulty with letter writing and phonemic awareness. He does know some phonics and can identify his letters but he struggles with the special rules (ch, th, sh, silent e, long vowels vs short vowels, etc).

Mom's goal is for her son to be scoring at or above benchmark level and to be working independently with less prompting.

Mom wants 1 hour sessions 3 times a week. They are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 4pm-6pm as well as Wednesday from 3pm-6pm.

Job Requirements

• Tutor must be willing to work at student's home in Ponte Vedra Beach not far from the Marsh Landing Country Club.
• Tutor MUST have experience with the Wilson Reading System (WRS) or be Orton Gillingham certified.
• Tutor must be available for 1 hour sesions 3 times a week during student's available times.
• Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)

MON, TUE, THUR, FRI 4pm-6pm

WED 3pm-6pm
