The RN 3 Intermediate will initiate the PRACTICE of a SHC coordinator of patient care, collaborating with
other care providers and health team members to provide required care. The RN 3 INTERMEDIATE acts as a
patient teacher and advocate, assisting the patient in seeking information, assuring the patient has the
opportunity for informed consent for treatment decisions, and promotes the maximum level of patientdesired independence.
The Intermediate Home Therapies Dialysis Nurse has responsibility for coordinating the services related to
home modalities including patient training, follow-up care, primary nursing and case management,
education, and promotion of home treatment modalities to patients and staff. In addition, the intermediate
home therapies nurse demonstrates a solid practice in the home modality he/she has been trained in.
The RN identifies professional role development activities including continuing education, quality assessment
and improvement, and the review and clinical application of research findings. The RN identifies ethically sound
practice and confronts ethical challenges with minimal assistance from a mentor.

The Staff RN leads the treatment floor, overseeing patient care, directing patient care technicians and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team and physicians to meet the patients’ kidney needs. The Staff RN will advocate for patients and effectively coordinate with other team members for smooth kidney care in a holistic environment. Experience: One (1) year Registered Nurse general nursing experience; three (3) months experience in the applicable modality (HD, PD or HHD)
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent, BSN preferred
License/Certification: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; current CPR certification
Based on California’s new pay transparency law the hour wage will need to be listed on posted positions.
The compensation for the role will depend on several factors including the candidate’s qualifications, work experience, competencies, and skills and may fall outside of the range shown.
Hourly Pay Range: $38.08-$52.12
