POSITION PURPOSE
JBM Packaging is on a growth trajectory. Mechanically inclined team members responsible for running and maintaining our high-powered, state-of-the-art folding machines play a critical role in helping to grow our business. Collaboration is essential as the Folding Machine Technical Tender works with our Adjusters and Machine Operators to ensure envelopes and flexible packaging of the highest quality are made. These individuals must be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential job functions and physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE THESE ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Operation of all machinery according to industry-standard safety procedures.
- Thorough review of the manufacturing order for the job running on your assigned machine(s).
- Communicate with Adjusters and Machine Operators (prior and current shift) to identify and take action on any immediate needs for machine(s) you are assigned.
- Ensure the machine counters are working correctly.
- Ensure the job(s) you are running is/are at target speed.
- Inspect envelopes/flexible packaging being run to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Fill or swap gum containers.
- Order supplies for machines.
- Retrieve die cut blanks with pallet jack or maneuver paper rolls and supplies that are required for the job(s) running on your assigned machine(s).
- Transport full or last skid of the job using pallet jack to the warehouse with any unused supplies.
- Provide coverage for Machine Operators during breaks.
- Cut down paper and chip board for orders when required as stated in the manufacturing order.
- Perform wash up duties as prescribed for the machine(s) you are assigned.
- Empty adhesive drums and hang new ones according to the SOP.
- Remove waste from machines, deposit into appropriate waste gaylords, and record quantities.
- Sweep floors around machines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain 5S and/or GMP.
- Troubleshoot and correct MINOR machine jam-ups and skips to resume production.
- Report any unsafe or potentially damaging conditions to management.
- Lubricate the equipment as instructed/required.
- Maintain printing equipment on machines.
- Notify Production Supervisor when equipment is in need of repair.
- Maintain Kanban and notify Supervisor when more parts/supplies are needed.
- Use all tools properly when appropriate (should not be using tools to make complex adjustments – only Adjusters are responsible for this).
- Follow all JBM Packaging procedures, guidelines, and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Always works with safety as your number one priority.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of the product produced on your machine(s) to ensure JBM quality standards are met.
- Drive for results to ensure quotas and customer deadlines are met.
- Ability to support and maintain our folding machines throughout assigned job runs.
- Team player: ability to collaborate with Adjusters and Machine Operators in your assigned machine group.
- Ability to think ahead and identify any potential problems/issues before they arise.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Manual dexterity.
MUST-HAVES
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen (medical marijuana cards are not accepted).
- Must be able to meet background check requirements (no violent crimes against women or children and no crimes sexual in nature).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or 25 lbs. regularly during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to regularly stand and walk, during an 8-hour shift.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to train on 1st shift for a minimum of 4 weeks before going to destination shift (2nd or 3rd).
- Availability to work overtime, as needed.

- Flexo Ink Printing experience.
