Storm is seeking a mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician for an immediate direct hire opportunity. This position is for a growing, and well-known company in Batavia, IL.

Basic Details:

• Shift/Hours: 1st Shift 6a-3:30p Possible weekends/OT but not often

Summary:

Maintenance Technician will assist in repairing, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the entire facility. Will help ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by assisting with preventative maintenance, following diagrams, sketches, operations and manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications. Will assist in troubleshooting malfunctions and repairs where necessary.

Job Duties:

• Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
• Drive a floor scrubbing machine.
• Clean machines on a regular basis.
• Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeteria.
• Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.
• Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
• Assist in completing projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware/software upgrades, calibrations, and retrofits.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.

Qualifications:

• Mechanically Inclined
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
• Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands.
• High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/carry products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend or climb into and out of machines and stoop, bend, or kneel as required.

Education:

• A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
• 6 months industry-related experience and/or training.
• Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance (is ideal but not required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
