Join our team at Dough Joy, Seattle's specialty donut shop, as a Donut Maker (Baker)!

We're looking for a team player with a great attitude and a willingness to learn to help us make delicious, plant-based yeast-raised donuts in creative and fun flavors. Training for this position starts immediately with full hours (if candidate available, company flexible for the right candidate). You'll join us in our new production facility near University Village!

Donut, bread, or pastry making/decorating experience preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Donut Maker (Baker), your responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Bake Team to orchestrate each night's bake
• Using equipment such as mixers, dough sheeters, and fryers
• Completing general kitchen tasks
• Decorating donuts
• Cross-training on all positions within the bake
• Oversee completed products and quality control
• Delegating cleaning tasks
• Managing assistant bakers and decorators during your shift
• Properly scaling (weighing) ingredients, dough, donuts, icings, and glazes
• Washing and sanitizing all utensils and machinery
• Complying with safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving when faced with hurdles.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performing more than one task calmly and effectively in a busy environment
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and try new things
• Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
• Standing and walking for an entire shift
• Communicating and working with a team
• Possessing a valid WA State food handler card

Schedule:

• Fri, Sat: 11AM-5PM *HOURS VARY SLIGHTLY BASED ON PACE/BAKE SIZE/EVENTS/ETC. - THIS IS THE GENERAL TIMEFRAME. TO BE DISCUSSED FURTHER UPON INTERVIEW*
• 10-14 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay for this position is $21/hr + tips (averaging $26+/hour total)
• We offer a tip guarantee that wage will average minimum $26/hr+ (with tips). If actual tips received are less, company will pay the difference to ensure a dependable $26/hr. You will not receive less than $26/hr.
