We currently can hire for this position out of the following locations:
Leawood, KS, and nearby areas, or fully remote may be an option for this role. The pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
Salary Range: $175,000.00 To 200,000.00 Annually.
Primary purpose:
Additional commercial staffing position to increase Stanchion’s Natural Gas marketing presence and add incremental customer business.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Work closely with natural gas customers to understand customer needs and develop. transactions/product structures to meet those needs.
- Build new relationships with gas producers, gas consumers, gas marketers and third-party gas infrastructure operators and onboard new customers pursuing master agreements and credit terms.
- Experience executing natural gas trades on both buy and sell sides.
- Optimizing economics around existing gas transportation and storage positions.
- Fundamental understanding of natural gas supply and demand.
- Ability to analyze and react to market and customer opportunities.
- Ensure Legal & Regulatory compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Develop portfolios and analyze profit and loss and risk / reward.
- Assist in processes and procedures to capture, track & report gas positions.
- Seek new natural gas asset opportunities for the company.
- Work with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years direct work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- 10+ years of direct natural gas marketing and trading experience.
- Direct experience with energy futures, swaps, options and hedging activities.
- Fundamental knowledge of physical natural gas infrastructure and gas operations.
- Knowledge of various natural gas markets, including Rockies, Appalachia and Midcontinent.
- Successful experience trading physical gas as well as financial paper.
- Experience building a new book of business.
- Intermediate/Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

- Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

- Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
