As a Satellite Director, you will be primarily responsible for the successful development, operations, and management of satellite services and staff in accordance with professional standards, resident state licensing requirements, local board expectations, and branch expectations.

The HOMEBUILDERS® program is an evidence-based model which has been rated as a Well Supported family preservation program by the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse. Emphasis is on child safety and keeping the family together. As a HOMEBUILDERS® Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, compliance, and management of the HOMEBUILDERS® as well as model fidelity. This individual will also be responsible for providing backup referral management and supervision for the Specialists on the HOMEBUILDERS® team, when needed. This position serves as the liaison between the program and state child welfare administration.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise staff in alignment with job requirements, program and agency expectations, and licensing requirements;
  • Promote effective operations through hiring, training, and orientation of new hires;
  • Conduct weekly individual and team supervision meetings with direct reports and interns;
  • Build and sustain a cohesive team while cultivating a positive employee morale;
  • Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, leave requests, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers;
  • Manage employee vacation scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for program service needs;
  • Ensure the delivery of quality services consistent with state licensing and Bethany's standards of practice;
  • Effectively and efficiently track all report submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy;
  • Monitor child placement activity and remain appraised of foster care and adoptive planning and decision making;
  • Stay up to date on child welfare issues, legislation trends and practices through systematic review of professional literature and networking with state service units and private organizations;
  • Assist the Branch Director with developing and enhancing positive relationships with contractors, referral sources, other agencies, courts, churches, and similar entities;
  • Assist the Branch Director with preparing the annual satellite office and service unit budget;
  • Monitor revenue and expenditures per agency policies and Board expectations, while also providing headquarters with statistical reports on a defined, timely basis;
  • Work collaboratively with the Satellite Advisory Board (state board if required) and headquarters in developing, preparing, and distributing public relations, marketing and fundraising material;
  • Participate in fund-raising events that promote Bethany's ministry;
  • Develop and establish the meeting agenda collaboratively with the Advisory Board Chair to ensure an effective and efficient meeting, while also conducting Board Meetings;
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
  • Oversee the staffing requirements of the program, along with consulting with supervisor(s) on program, clinical, or personnel issues;
  • Build a cohesive team and maintain positive employee morale;
  • Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers;
  • Oversee the operations of the employee selection, hiring, training, disciplinary action, and orientation processes in accordance with agency expectations;
  • Provide supervision for clinical and consultation activities, referrals, and other administrative duties in the absence of the Program Supervisor, when needed;
  • Provide resources and support to the program to comply with HOMEBUILDERS® standards, contract requirements, and/or quality improvement plans in collaboration with administration;
  • Ensure agency adherence to all program components in the HOMEBUILDERS® standards;
  • Ensure supervisors adhere to all supervisor components in the HOMEBUILDERS® standards;
  • Support efforts to ensure client and staff safety;
  • Attend team consultation meetings periodically;
  • On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for consultation and support, while also scheduling a back-up coverage plan when unavailable;
  • Facilitate and actively participate in required Quality Assurance activities, while also ensuring that all Program Supervisors participate in all required training and Quality Assurance activities;
  • Attend all applicable training workshops;
  • Assist supervisor(s) with reviewing model fidelity and program outcome data;
  • Complete development plans with supervisors in collaboration with the supervisor and the quality assurance consultant;
  • Review all quality assurance reports;
  • Support the Program Supervisor in implementing quality enhancement and improvement plans;
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referring agency staff and other community professionals;
  • Demonstrate flexibility with working hours outside of the normal business hours to meet the needs of the role to include some evenings and weekends, as needed;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with two (2) years of experience working with children and families, preferably in family preservation and stabilization, or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with four (4) years of experience working with children and families, preferably in family preservation and stabilization;
  • At least one (1) year of prior supervisory experience;
  • At least one (1) year of experience in successful budget development and management;
  • Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a Bachelor’s level degree;
  • Demonstrated ability with providing excellent clinical, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Preferably active or able to obtain professional licensure issued by the state of the work location as a LCSW, or the following licenses: LICSW, LMFT, LP, LPEI, LPC, or LMHC;
  • Must possess the ability to engage, develop, and maintain positive community relationships with a diverse group of individuals;
  • Knowledge of state, community and agency resources;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be strongly organized with a strong attention to detail;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
  • Active motor vehicle license and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
