Job description

Our team in West Hollywood is seeking an ambitious, energetic, organized, and dependable Dental Hygienist. Our office is located in the Beverly Hills area. The position will be for one day a week (Tuesdays) with 8-hour work days and a 1-hour break for lunch. We respect our hygienists as key players in our patients' oral healthcare and are looking for someone with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills who will also be actively engaged in patient education. Responsibilities

• Administer prophylactic treatment by the scaling and polishing of teeth, removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
• Conduct patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, head and neck inspection
• Document areas of existing restorations and notable areas of possible decay and disease for dentist's review - When appropriate, may call in dentist for immediate consultation
• Apply preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling), answer patient questions relevant to oral hygiene
• Counsel patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
• Take x-rays to determine extent of any decay and disease
• Practice universal precautions and other sterilization and infection control procedures, and maintain equipment
• Provide associated administrative support, including maintaining patient documentation, patient communication and other record-keeping
• Performs related duties as required

Skills & Experience

• Licensing as a Dental Hygienist and registration in California required
• At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience preferred
• Dentrix Dental software familiarity preferred
• Current CPR certificate
• Good computer skills
• Exceptional communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Maintain positive attitude under fast paced situations
• Highly organized

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $80.00 per hour
