Genesis Marine is safe, reliable and efficient with the right equipment for the industry's marine transportation needs. We primarily serve refineries and storage terminals along the Gulf Coast, East Coast, Canada, Great Lakes, Intracoastal Canal and western river systems of the United States, including the Red, Ouachita and Mississippi Rivers on which Genesis has significant existing terminals.Genesis Marine owns and operates two fleets, inland and offshore, including approximately 130 vessels. Our state-of-the-art barges coupled with the best liquid cargo mariners make us the safest, most efficient carrier of inland, hot-oil cargoes. Our inland fleet consists of approximately 82 barges and 33 push-boats and our offshore fleet consists of nine boats and nine barges and one ocean going tanker. We have a total design capacity of 2.3 mmbbl for Inland Marine Operations, 0.9 mmbbl for Offshore Marine Operations and 0.3 mmbbl for the M/T American Phoenix (ocean-going tanker).We provide a safe and competitive service, adhering to strict operating procedures which are designed to not only meet, but also exceed customer & regulatory requirements.

Key Duties:

• Select and assign the most qualified wheelhouse and crew members for each vessel.
• Identify and arrange the most cost effective mode of travel to get employees from hub or home to vessel, utilizing flights, hotels, rental cars, and cabs as necessary.
• Code all pertinent invoices, crew reimbursements and process employee payroll deductions to be forwarded to the accounting department.
• Monitor daily movement of vessel employees (home to vessel, vessel to home, vessel to vessel) for accurate information on days worked to be forwarded to payroll.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate any unscheduled crew changes.
• Notify Port Captain of any possible disciplinary matters regarding vessel employees.
• May review new hire paperwork with new employees and ensure all new hire paperwork is completed correctly.
• Update Crew scheduler and crewing reports daily.
• Verify and update Mariners USCG and STCW credentials in personnel files

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• High school graduate or GED
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong Organizational skills, problem solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
• in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to use sound financial judgment when coordinating travel for vessel employees
• Ability to perform essential functions with minimal or no supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
• Ability to work flexible hours i.e. after hour “on call”, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Ability to accurately multi-task in a busy environment with time constraints
• Prior knowledge and/or experience in the marine Industry
• Ability to visit vessels periodically as time permits
