Job description – Certified Medical Coding/Billing Instructor/Trainer

Visionary Health Group (VHG) is a consulting firm that provides healthcare related consulting services in practice/business operations, medical auditing, financial operation assessment, education, etc.

Part-time position available. The Instructor/Trainer will be responsible for creating a virtual learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by Visionary Health Group (VHG). Must be able to provide virtual classes in evenings and or Saturdays. This is a remote opportunity for Instructor/Trainer.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to meet State of Indiana requirements that include background check.
• Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in medical coding and billing classes to prepare for certification.
• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Fulfills Administrative responsibilities.
• Syllabus
• Student attendance
• Grading records
• Student/Instructor communications

• Submits requested information within established timelines.
• Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance.
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
• Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. as appropriate.
• In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair timely.
• Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
• Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction. Example, Zoom, WebEx, etc.
• Professional certification in the field (CPC-I Approved Certified Instructor)
• Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program and/or discipline being taught; for example, CPC, CPB, CPC-I, etc.
• Candidate will have a minimum of one year of related work experience.
• Able to work in a strong team environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Indianapolis, IN 46250: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)
• ICD-10: 2 years (Preferred)
• Medical coding: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Security clearance:

• Confidential (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Night Shift (Preferred)
