This position is responsible for cashier duties and food service at the Cafeteria's coffee bar and catering. Must be able to process customer transactions on a computerized cash register station and follow beverage recipes/standards. Responsibilities include: * Reconciliation of daily cash reports and securing deposits in a proper manner. * Assist assigned areas including food service stations as required by operational needs including setting up service lines, meal assembly and assisting customers during service times. * Maintain and organize work station for cleanliness and orderliness, making sure that the condiment station and other assigned duties are appropriately filled and stocked. * Assure that register is in correct working order and transactions are recorded consistently. * Conduct all transactions and duties related to cash handling according to University Policy BUS 49 and Hospital and Departmental Policy. * Handling problems with customers in a diplomatic manner. Follow safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by the Department's HACCP program and as prescribed by TJC. This is a part-time "as needed" position. May be needed to travel to multiple UCLA Health sites. Pay Range: $19.48-19.48 Hourly

Required: * Must be able to read, speak, and understand English in order to write memos, and to read and understand policies and procedures relevant to employment in the department. * Skill in handling a computerized cash register. * Skill in making change, handling currency, and being able to recognize counterfeit bills easily. * Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions, as well as basic math in order to maintain accurate and legible cash logs. * Ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a high volume operation, with diplomacy, and patience. * Mathematical skills to insure accuracy in calculating and generating deposits and postings according to University Policy. * Ability to function fully as a team member, participating in on-going performance improvement projects. * Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot or cold areas. * Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+lbs. * Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by JCAHO and HACCP standards. * Ability to adhere to all departmental work rules such as applies to attendance, punctuality, dress code, and removal of University property; Adherence to all Departmental, University, and Hospital policies as relevant to cash handling procedures.
