Under general direction, plan data collection, analyze and interpret numerical data from experiments, clinical studies, survey, and other sources and applies statistical methodology to provide information for scientific or clinical research and statistical analysis. Performs statistical analysis, prepare numerical information for presentation, and prepare statistical sections of research grants and scientific publications. Assist investigators with design of less complex studies or projects.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes and interpret numerical data from experiments, studies, surveys, large clinical trials, and other sources.
2. Evaluates reliability of source information, adjusts and weighs raw data, and organize results into a form compatible with analysis by computer or other methods.
3. Performs statistical analysis using a variety of methods from simple univariate statistics to multivariate techniques and with the use of computers.
4. Prepares numerical information for presentation in the form of computer output, graphs, charts, tables, written reports, or other methods. Prepare statistical sections of research grants and scientific publications for less complex studies.
5. Assists investigators with the design of less complex studies by planning methods to collect information and by developing questionnaires, sampling techniques, and the like.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Engineering.
  • Six to twelve (6-12) months of work experience in statistical applications or statistical consulting experience as part of graduate studies.
