The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Corning’s Values are operationalized by the HR Function through the facilitation of Talent Management offerings, as well as programs and processes that aid in making Corning’s Values visible.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will provide key analytical support for Corning’s Benefits processes and vendor management, including but not limited to benefit administration, health, absence and other benefit programs.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with vendor(s); assist with the management of the relationships and coordinate tasks with vendors.
  • Administration and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures .
  • Explains employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing announcements, presentations, and responding to requests for information.
  • Collects, analyzes and summarizes employee benefit data and trends.
  • Assists with employee and retiree cases, enrollment inquiries, call calibration and the administration of COBRA compliance.
  • Work with team members to solve difficult technical and operational related problems Work cross functionally to develop process improvement .
  • Assist with the development/review of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), benefit summaries, and communications.
  • Benefits subject matter expert
  • Other job duties as required

  • None

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum of 3- 5 yrs of experience working on cross functional teams

Required Skills

  • Vendor Management
  • 3 - 5 yrs of Benefits administration knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Ability to work within matrixed team structure across multiple functions and cultures
  • Independent self-starter, taking initiative to resolve issues and find opportunities for improvements
  • Aptitude towards understanding customer needs (internal or external) and translating into customer requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
