Job Description:
At CoBank, Associate Relationship Manager manages or assists with management of account relationships with existing customers. This position also serves as the second point of contact for customers and interacts with and supports other areas of the bank such as Credit, Trade Services and Special Loan Processing and as a training ground for a future Relationship or Product Management role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assists with managing the day-to-day customer relationship including quoting, amending, closing and troubleshooting transactions to ensure flawless execution.
  • Entering export and supply chain finance opportunities into the Customer Deal Management (CDM) system and following up on these opportunities.
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgement when regional relationship managers are traveling.
  • Documentation of applicable policies and procedures, maintenance of SharePoint sites and performing IT and new software testing.
  • Contributes to management profitability targets for portfolio.
  • Prudently services accounts to protect CoBank and minimize losses.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in a designated market/industry segment and keeps abreast of industry trends, technology, regulatory requirements and the competitive environment.
  • Participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or relevant discipline
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in banking or financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Keen interest in foreign markets and cultures.
  • Interest in development opportunities including credit and sales training.
  • Strong business acumen, and analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, transactional environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver commitments while juggling multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability work collaboratively and build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of associates, management, and internal customers across the bank, as well as external vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent active listening skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

Special Requirements:

  • Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish preferred but not required.

Compensation Information

  • Estimated Base Salary Range: $95,000-$130,000
  • Target short-term incentive opportunity: 22%
