Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Admissions Administrator to join the Information and Systems Team in the Postgraduate Admissions Office at the University of Cambridge.

The University of Cambridge is one of the foremost employers in the region, currently employing over 12,500 people from all over the world. The Postgraduate Admissions Office supports the admission of students to doctoral and non-doctoral postgraduate courses at the University of Cambridge. The Office currently receives in excess of 23,000 applications annually from UK and international students.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and busy team in a central University office that provides a key service to all departments and colleges, as well as to applicants from all over the world.

As Assistant Admissions Administrator you will work alongside others in the team to support applicants and internal stakeholders (departmental and school administrators, academics etc.) to ensure the smooth progression of applications to Postgraduate Study by making offers, scrutinising documentation submitted to determine whether offer conditions have been met, and confirming applicants' admission once all offer conditions have been met.

You will assist with deferrals, transferring applications and resolving duplicate applications. You will also liaise with applicants, departments, degree committee and Colleges about the admissions process, and carry out a variety of other tasks to support the team and ensure that processes are run smoothly and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be customer-orientated, and have experience of providing a responsive and timely administrative service (preferably in Higher Education). You will also have an eye for detail, the ability to digest and understand policy and scrutinise documentation, and must be able to work independently to complete work to tight deadlines.

Interested applicants for this post should be educated to A level standard (or have equivalent relevant experience) and have good knowledge of MS Office, and be willing to learn new skills.
