Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the central point of contact regarding workers compensation claims for the company and any or all subsidiaries.
  • Provides intake and claim to report information and services telephonically, via email or web interface as appropriate and as needed for workers compensation claims.
  • Assists in coordinating medical treatment protocols for all newly reported workers compensation claims.
  • Coordinates leave information for workers compensation claims from intake thru closure, and transition from one leave type to another, including concurrent and/or simultaneous programs.
  • Produces written documents, such as letters, memos, and reports, in order to send and receive information regarding claim status, leaves of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act, and any other relevant state or federal leave laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Works with Benefits Team to update and maintain procedures relating to administration, compliance and audit requirements; associate handbook and other program-related documents.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in workers’ compensation claims management
  • Working knowledge of HIPPA, FMLA, state leave laws, state workers’ compensation laws, statutes, liabilities, and procedures; industrial safety concepts; claims management practices; practices and procedures of claim evaluation, including claim investigation and claim settlement techniques; and medical, insurance, and legal terminology related to the cause and treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Quality assurance and analysis proficiency to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing for deadline
  • Excellent customer service orientation

The hourly rate for this role is $24.00 - $28.00.

Position Summary

The Workers’ Comp Administrator is responsible for coordinating the medical management of workers’ compensation cases, reviewing incident investigations, acquiring return-to-work documentation, coordinating modified-duty strategies, and assisting in conducting routine evaluations of the workers’ compensation management program from intake thru closure.

This role also provides leave administration and or leave coordination services, under the Family & Medical Leave Act of 1993, state leave laws, and employer authorized leave policies inclusive of workers compensation and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serves as the central point of contact regarding workers compensation claims for the company and any or all subsidiaries.
  • Provides intake and claim reporting information and services telephonically, via email or web interface as appropriate and as needed for workers compensation claims.
  • Assists in coordinating medical treatment protocols for all newly reported workers compensation claims.
  • Prepares necessary wage statements and wage verification forms.
  • Monitors, produces, and sends state regulatory information and notices.
  • Assists in preparation of reports assessing financial impact of program administration.
  • Maintains effective communication with associates, third party carrier and or carrier representatives, managers, supervisors, and safety coordinator.
  • Comprehends and makes inferences from written material letters and reports from doctors in order to make determinations regarding ability to return to work.
  • Coordinates leave information for workers compensation claims from intake thru closure, and transition from one leave type to another, including concurrent and/or simultaneous programs.
  • Produces written documents, such as letters, memos, and reports, in order to send and receive information regarding claim status, leaves of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act, and any other relevant state or federal leave laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Create and maintain electronic and physical records and tracking information using Microsoft office applications, HRIS applications, and other vendor systems ensuring accuracy and completeness of all records.
  • Creates and Maintains electronic OSHA 300 and 300A records ensuring accuracy and completeness for all reporting and work locations.
  • Ensures confidentiality of associate records is fully maintained and that all medical and family leave standards and protocols are followed under legal, regulatory and company policy.
  • Produces end-user reports to clients with various frequency & formats
  • Works with Benefits Team to update and maintain procedures relating to administration, compliance and audit requirements; associate handbook and other program-related documents.
  • Monitors satisfaction with Workers’ Comp, Leave and Disability Administration via periodic customer surveys and recommends needed changes.
  • Participates in special projects and cross functional teams as required.
  • Safety: must have the ability to perform the job safely by demonstrating full awareness of his/her surroundings. Will utilize proper safety techniques and equipment use when necessary. Will be proactive in alerting Management of any unsafe act or condition to prevent injuries.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
