Vicar's Landing is hiring a Wait staff/Bar staff II for the Sawgrass campus as a Full-Time job in Ponte Vedra, FL.

As a Wait staff/Bar staff II, you will be responsible for table service as well as beverage services in the main dining room and lounge. The employee trains new wait staff employees, acts as lead wait staff, and works in other areas of Dining Services as needed. The employee is responsible for following established policies and procedures regarding food service.

Vicar's Landing is a retirement and assisted living facility located in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Job Requirements:

• Takes orders, provides food and beverage service, and requests items both graciously and courteously. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our members and their guests. Assist and supervise to-go orders, as needed. Trains new wait staff and acts as lead wait staff. Prepares and mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as needed. Assumes the responsibilities and accountability for Member’s Lounge charges in POS. Complete daily liquor usage sheet. Assist with weekly liquor inventory and ordering.
• Abides by all established community policies, procedures, and rules, including attendance. Reports to work as scheduled. Schedule to include weekends, holidays, and different shifts. Excellent attendance is most important for us to deliver our best service to the Members and not to overburden our fellow employees when we miss work.
• Maintains established standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness. Always in appropriate uniform including black pants, not jeans, black socks, and black shoes.
• Provides service including bar service for special functions. Fills in as Dining Room supervisor as needed. Works in other areas of Dining Services as needed, including Blue Heron Café and Pantry.
• Attends in-service training and educational seminars as assigned.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions of work areas for employees as well as Members. Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs daily opening and closing assignments.

Non-essential job functions:

• Responsible for setting tables and maintaining workstations according to Vicar's Landing policies and procedures. Keeps pace with responsibilities to avoid interference with members’ services.
• Communicates effectively any/all menu selections, specials, and requests.
• Completes all assigned side work filling salt and pepper shakers, and sugar containers, cleaning and replacing stock in a timely manner.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

• Ability to read, write and speak English, perform simple arithmetic, and follow oral instructions in English.
• Ability to interpret and explain the menu, answer, or refer questions, coordinate the meal service process and respond to requests.
• Must be able to lift and carry a 50-pound service tray 50 feet.
• Must be able to bend and pick up items from the floor, and reach above head to remove items from the shelf.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with Members, guests, and staff with courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
• Must possess a fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service technique, personal hygiene, and professional appearance.
• Must be at least 16 years of age to work during school hours.
