OCO is seeking a Volunteer Manager to recruit, oversee, and support volunteers across the agency.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate and oversee the volunteer component of the agency, acts as a liaison for volunteers
  • Develop and implement plans for ongoing volunteer recruitment, retention, interviewing, placing, education, and recognition
  • Maintain volunteer communication and documentation through online applications, paper applications and data base
  • Responsible for communication, placement and utilization of volunteers, interns, and other unpaid staff throughout the agency
  • Assist with completing Agency and program reporting requirements
  • Assist in public relations efforts on behalf of the agency
  • Provides administrative support to the Fund Development Coordinator and assistance in supporting agency fundraising efforts

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to establish positive relationships with community partners and the public
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, ability to solve routine problems and gain cooperation of others
  • Skilled in the use of computers, databases, social media and Microsoft software programs
  • Ability to effectively work independently with good organizational and time management skills to complete tasks independently
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times with regard to agency donors, employees, volunteers and client information.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with good driving record and access to reliable transportation for reimbursed travel throughout the county
  • Must readily acquire familiarity with the function of Agency and State and Federal Organizations pertinent to the position
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. regularly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Human Service related field with related experience; and
  • 1-3 years human services experience preferably in fund development and managing volunteers; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and education
  • Leadership skills preferred

Grade 9

20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm with flexibility required
