The Collier Companies is seeking a VP of Construction!

The VP of Construction will provide leadership and oversight to the activities of the Construction Team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Carries a high level of Emotional intelligence through day-to-day activities.
  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Assist President of Construction with initial proformas and budgets.
  • Continually monitor for changes in scope or cost as to proactively manage the design impacts to the overall financial viability of the project.
  • Review plans to identify value engineering opportunities, proactively identify issues, and ensure plans adhere to Collier design standards.
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate construction, insurance, and budget risks.
  • Assemble RFP’s for new projects with President of Construction.
  • Work closely with Vendors, Consultants and Contractors in managing the bid process, contract awards and negotiations, timelines, performance and project logs, compliance, and billings
  • Is involved with the selection of and contracting for architects, Contractors, and other third-party consultants
  • Act as primary point of contact for clear and timely communications with all Vendors, Consultants, and Municipalities.
  • Proactively look for any possible construction issues and spearhead resolutions.
  • Work closely with Development to create and update construction standards.
  • Manage Construction staff effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with governing entities for the feasibility of the project; assist with securing all necessary permits.
  • Oversees the proper management of pay applications, and lien releases.
  • Oversees the proper management of Change Management, Directives and handling of field related issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting Construction Schedules & claim analyses.
  • Responsible for Coordination with Operations for a smooth transfer from Construction.
  • Attend on-site meetings, inspections, and municipality hearings as needed.
  • Reports to President of Construction to ensure effective communication with the overall team.
