Job description

We have an immediate need for a full-time veterinary technician. Looking for an experienced, hard-working, self-motivated technician. Our clinic is a busy 2 doctor practice. Applicants must be team players and be effective communicators. Applicants must be polite and have great customer service skills. Applicants should have at minimum 2 years experience and be comfortable assisting with routine appointments, procedures, and surgeries (spays/neuters, dentals, etc). Those with less experience but strong desire to learn and advance are welcome to apply.

Skills:

• Obtain heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature
• Be able to properly restraint dogs and cats for examination and for various procedures
• Obtain a thorough history from owners (presenting complaint, medication history, diet, etc)
• Set up and interpret fecal floats, ear cytology, heart worm tests, SNAP tests, etc
• Have a basic knowledge of vaccines, preventatives, etc and be able to provide accurate information to owners
• Draw blood, place IV catheters, give IV/SC/IM injections
• Set up anesthesia machine, monitor patients under anesthesia, obtain blood pressure readings, monitor vitals - *training can be provided
• Assist in dental procedures, including scaling and polishing teeth - *training can be provided
• Answer phones and assist customers in a polite and friendly manner

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
