Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Summary:

SUMMARY: Under the minimal direction of the Treasury Management (TM) Regional Sales Manager, the TM Sales Advisor 3 is responsible for developing new treasury management business and expanding existing commercial depository relationships. The incumbent is also responsible for performing the consultative sales process by leveraging their expertise around customer working capital management practices, payment systems, and associated products and services to meet the customers’ and prospects’ payment needs. The incumbent incorporates a keen awareness of risk and a customer focused perspective. In addition, the incumbent assists bankers, such as business banking associates, commercial lenders, and commercial bankers, with their TM business development efforts in order to increase the growth of commercial deposit relationships and increase fee income. The TM Sales Advisor 3 handles the moderately complex to the most complex accounts. The incumbent is expected to travel, when environmentally appropriate, in their assigned region up to 50% of the time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Execute TM sales strategies in assigned portfolio of bank customers and prospects in efforts to grow TM revenue and achieve sales goals. Follow the Customer Focused Banking (CFB) discipline and approach to sales (which includes pipeline development, pre-call plans, process flows, and working capital), with the established exception pricing policy.

2. Use strong networking and relationship management skills, as well as business acumen and knowledge of the assigned market, to source new business opportunities and ensure that the opportunities are pursued appropriately. Work with other associates to ensure the customer relationship is maximized.

3. Demonstrate strong business development skills with knowledge of selling and closing techniques.

4. Primarily sell via in person meetings. New customer acquisition and expansion of existing relationships are generated through commercial bankers/loan managers and independent prospecting. Follow up via phone, virtual environment (web-based video conferencing tool) and email. Perform the end to end sales process independently, from cultivating and maintaining relationships to closing the deal to passing the customer to Risk Management and Operations for onboarding. Guidance is available from the TM Regional Sales Manager as needed.

5. Focus on selling a high volume of 25+ TM products that best align to the needs of the commercial customer base. This includes the full suite of TM products, including the most complex and sophisticated products. Perform timely follow-up on newly implemented treasury services to ensure we meet the client's needs.

6. Provide expert advice to customers on how to optimize their financial operations, including in depth insight around process and business optimization.

7. Partner with the bank leadership structure on deposit gathering activities and focus on making businesses more efficient in the management of their working capital.

8. Maintain strong industry knowledge, stay current on competitor offerings, and provide market and competitor feedback to ensure competitiveness.

9. Work with their TM Regional Sales Manager to provide customer feedback into Product Management for the customer segment and region.

10. Engage in mentorship and training activities with bankers and peers in the assigned region (demonstrating a willingness and ability to share expertise with others) to ensure they understand the TM product set and what a good referral looks like.

11. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field (Finance, Economics and/or Accounting) or equivalent related experience required.
  • 5 years of sales experience required.
  • Proven interest or knowledge of the TM discipline required.
  • Proven track record of sales success required.
  • Proven ability to build full banking relationships required.
  • Ability to complete CFB 4 Foundations within 6 months of hire required.
  • Strong customer skills including desire to meet customer needs through sales required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint required.
  • Professional level written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred.
  • Arvest experience preferred.
