Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Trainer is responsible for all training of staff within Corporate Patient Financial Services division within the ambulatory and acute setting, in a classroom setting. This person must travel to various locations and be versed in all systems related to the revenue cycle for the ambulatory and acute settings. The position will teach proper scripting to new hires and provide re-training for such, as needed, for existing team members. Responsible for communicating changes to insurance plan codes and procedures. This position will also assist Rev Cycle Training Specialists with hospital systems upgrade testing in conjunction with Information Technology staff. The position will utilize the training curriculum developed by the Rev Cycle Training Specialists and provide recommendations for changes, as needed. The Revenue Cycle Trainer will work in conjunction with the Revenue Cycle Training Specialists to provide feedback on each new team member's readiness to work independently. This position will assist the Rev Cycle Training Specialists with STARS and QA system feedback to identify root cause issues. This position will work in conjunction with the Rev Cycle Training Specialists and division leadership to communicate regulation changes to staff as well as needed actions to achieve compliance. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

Minimum Education


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree is required.

Minimum Work Experience


  • Two (2) years of relevant revenue cycle experience (patient access, financial assistance, insurance billing, patient and/or insurance collections, reimbursement, health care customer service, payer contracting, or coding) is required. Experience as a trainer of revenue cycle preferred. Less job specific experience is required with completed advanced education (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree).

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • CRCS-I or P or CHAA Certification is required.
