Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an EMI Senior Technician to fulfill an Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI/EMC) technician role. This position will be part of our Analysis and Test group here at Collins in Burnsville, MN.

This is an Onsite position at our Burnsville facility.

The Analysis and Test group is comprised of several analysts, subject matter experts, test engineers, and test technicians that support the environmental test lab, EMI/EMC lab, wind tunnel testing labs, and engineering labs; all of which are located within Burnsville. These labs support research and development and the qualification of all parts manufactured within the five value streams in Burnsville.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing
  • Provides support to internal customers in the EMI/EMC laboratory
  • Utilizes in-house software and hardware to run EMI/EMC testing
  • Maintains calibration scheduling and hands off equipment for calibration
  • Assists with troubleshooting customer failures in emission, RF susceptibility, transient testing, and power quality
  • Safely performs high voltage transient testing, and high-power RF testing
  • Documents testing accurately
  • Tests accurately according to customer test plans and regulatory standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires:
  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Must be US Citizen or US person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Proficient with computers

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
