Job Description:

YSZ High School for Girls is seeking an inspired and inspiring Jewish History teacher for 11th grade. We are seeking teachers who are passionate about their subject and capable of passing on that passion in the classroom. e ideal candidate will be able to provide both the essential skills in text and midrash, and innovative teaching techniques that bring the History to life for today’s students.

As a startup school, we are looking to hire educators who value collaboration, and are excited to experiment, take chances, and challenge themselves to implement the most dynamic learning experience for each student.

In addition to these curricular responsibilities, the candidate should be comfortable teaching with technology and have a wealth of experience di ferentiating instruction. Our school is student centered, progressive, warm and committed to academic excellence.

All Judaics teachers should have strong Hebrew textual skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Warm, enthusiastic educator who can serve as a role model to teenage girls.
- Committed to a growth mindset.
- Open to or trained in student-centered learning techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong oral and written Hebrew proficiency.
- Extensive educational background in Judaic Studies.
- BA in Judaic Studies and/or Education and/or History or its equivalent.
- 1-3 years teaching experience preferred.

We welcome teachers with strong extracurricular experience. We anticipate many additional career opportunities in this area, including club leadership and mentoring programs, as our school continues to grow.

Salary for a full time position ranges from $60,000-$100,000, commensurate with a candidate’s experience, education, and course load.
