Job Summary

As a Retail Selection Specialist, you will assess, interview, make hiring decisions for entry level roles, schedule hiring manager interviews for specialty and lead positions, offer and schedule candidates for New Hire Orientation for Retail Hourly positions in the Supermarket & Market District formats.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 6 months to 1 year
  • Experience Desired: Previous experience working in a high-volume, full-cycle recruiting environment, customer service experience, previous work with an applicant tracking system.
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent plus up to 18 months of additional training
  • Education Desired: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete the hiring and selection process for candidates who have applied to the applicant tracking system by using predetermined core skills, job requirements and alignment with culture to screen and offer the right talent for our Supermarket and Market District locations. This includes candidate application reviews, phone interviews, making hiring decisions based on phone interview for entry level roles, scheduling hiring manager interviews for specialty and lead positions, delivering job offers and generating offer letters, negotiating wages, and scheduling new hire orientations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and develop a weekly strategy for processing candidates at priority locations based on current store vacancy rates. This includes candidate sharing between stores that are geographically close based on current store needs.
  • Maintain tracking documents for selection efforts regularly and communicate this information to designated leadership weekly.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with Store Operations Leaders by taking time to clearly understand the business needs and to define the profile of the right candidate. Communicate regularly with Store Operations Leaders regarding the status of open positions.
  • Take a thoughtful, customer-focused approach to candidate requests and inquiries. Promote a positive candidate experience for every individual by placing an emphasis on timely follow through, continuous communication and engagement throughout the selection and hiring process including verbal and/or written communication to candidates dispositioned.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and adapt in a fast changing work environment. Organize time and schedule to ensure all daily and weekly metrics are met.
  • Maintain accurate and proper documentation of all candidates, interview decisions and other recruiting activities as assigned. Ensure recruiting practices are consistent and compliant with company policies, procedures and applicable labor and employment laws.
  • Serve as a liaison between Retail Applicants and the Sourcing Recruiters by providing excellent customer service throughout the interview, offer and orientation scheduling process.
