Job description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency and two years in recovery.
A Peer Support Specialist is a trained professional providing recovery focused services. PSS offer hope, support, and advocacy to others through sharing their own experiences of living in recovery with mental illness and/or substance use disorder. The primary role of a Peer Support Specialist is to establish a safe and authentic therapeutic alliance while assisting participants in the recognition of solution-focused activities which will enhance successful stabilization, recovery, and actualization.
Must be certified or licensed, if not already so, as a Peer Support Specialist Counselor within three (3) years from hire date. Once obtained must maintain certification/licensure.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
