Under the guidance and direction of the WH Stimulation Client Support Laboratory (CSL) manager, a Senior Support Engineer provides technical support for the Reservoir performance Stimulation (RPS) technology portfolio in and out of Western Hemisphere (WH) Basins [America Land, AML and Offshore Atlantic, OAT]. Responsible for organizing, planning, completing, and if necessary, commercialize major technical projects that solve internal (RPS), external client (IOC, operators), and specific field problems. The Senior Support Engineer provides an interactive relationship between product development and field operations for the application and deployment of new technology. Provides internal and external training seminars in fluid/additive technology. Publishes work in oilfield technical conferences and/or journals to enhance internal and external recognition as an expert.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to Slb field operations concerning problems relating to chemistry. The support may include:
    • Identify and recommend the appropriate technology aimed at solving client and field problems.
    • Organize, plan, and complete technical evaluation projects regarding field requested support. These evaluations may include the use of not only CSL’s equipment buy also possible testing coordination with other Slb technical groups at MI-SWACO, Reservoir Laboratories and third- party laboratories.
    • Be a primary contact for client experts for questions on the application of technology.
    • Develop and present technical seminars to WH clients, field and sales personnel on new and existing technology as required.
    • Create technical reports for the support and solutions provided via internal the Slb technical portal InTouch.
  • Prepare high quality technology documents on subjects that improve our competitive position, improve our service quality, and improve our profitability.
  • Work seamlessly with WH RPS Domain group in supporting their functions.
  • Provide support to the InTouch Help Desk on chemistry issues by ensuring information is timely, accurate and up to date.
  • Work Closely with the Oilfield Chemistry Products (Product Center) Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Chemistry Sustaining to communicate feedback information regarding technical issues and opportunities for chemical additives and product systems.
  • Supports the efforts for the implementation of new technology.
    • Provide Product Development Interaction
    • Competitor technology watch (fracturing fluids).
    • Provide Reservoir Performance Stimulation (RPS) management with technical needs and input from projects.
    • Lead the new technology commercialization of regional chemical additives and systems developed within the Client Support.
    • Provide feedback to Product Center SMEs on new technology development as it evolves via communication on Technical Reviews.
  • Maintain an internal technical network to provide communications between the field and the Client Support Lab.
  • Provide close development and support of the RPS personnel. The activities may include
    • Lead the training of RPS laboratory personnel worldwide via the CSL Basic Laboratory Training (BLT) and Advanced Laboratory Training (ALT)
    • Mentor new personnel within the CSL organization.
    • Mentor field laboratory organization within Slb RPS.
    • Mentor field engineer personnel on the use, lab testing, and evaluation of technologies new to their districts/locations

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Master’s degree (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering) with 5+ year experience.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
